If you need assistance or further information about government life insurance, you should call the VA Insurance Center in Philadelphia at 800-669-8477. Specialists are available between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., ET, to help with premium payments, insurance dividends, changes of address, policy loans, naming beneficiaries and reporting the death of the insured or a beneficiary.

After hours you can leave a recorded message, which will be answered on the next workday. If you don't know the policy number you can provide the Social Security Number.
